Be Tornado For Brainrots Tornado Upgrades: Costs and Effects
How to buy tornado upgrades in Be Tornado For Brainrots, with observed costs for wind power, carry, and fan tiers and what each upgrade actually changes.
In Be Tornado For Brainrots, Money earned from placed Brainrots is spent directly on improving your tornado. The game's official description states the loop plainly: "Capture a Brainrot and bring it to your plot! They will make you rich! Use the Money to upgrade your tornado!"
What tornado upgrades do
Three kinds of purchases are confirmed:
- Wind power increases how far your tornado travels. After a +10 wind power purchase, the tornado reached the next area in observed gameplay.
- Carry increases how many Brainrots you can bring back per trip. One extra-carry purchase resulted in carrying double the Brainrots.
- Fan tiers change the fan's appearance. Whether they add travel distance is contested — see the details below.
How to buy an upgrade
- Open the shops area at the base, which contains sections for upgrades and fans ("Okay, shops, we've got upgrades and we've got fans").
- Buy a tornado improvement with Money — for example, "+10 wind power" — by clicking the upgrade repeatedly.
- After upgrading wind power, activate the fan again and test how much farther the tornado travels. In observed play, a +10 wind power purchase was enough to reach the next area.
- Carry upgrades are bought from the same shop. One "extra carry" purchase cost 2,500,000 and allowed carrying double the Brainrots per trip.
Verified upgrade options and observed costs
| Option | Observed cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Wind power | Starts cheap — "just for 10 it cost a million" — and "these prices go up like insanely fast" | Tornado travels farther; reaching the next area was observed after a +10 purchase |
| Carry | One extra-carry purchase cost 2,500,000; a spoken figure of "300 million" was also mentioned and may include a misread digit count | Carry more Brainrots per trip (double the carried amount after one purchase) |
| Fan tier: Copper | 100,000 | Cosmetic color change; no increase in travel distance was observed |
| Fan tier: Gold | ~1 billion | Not observed to increase travel distance |
| Fan tier: Red Stone | 100 billion | Cosmetic red/blood tornado appearance; the player reported going much farther after purchase, but wind-power upgrades were bought around the same time |
All costs come from spoken gameplay commentary and should be rechecked in-game before you budget for a purchase — the carry figure in particular may be a misreading.
What upgrades do and don't do
Wind power is the only purchase with a directly observed travel effect. Better fan tiers did not visibly extend range: after buying the Copper fan, the tornado reached the same area as before, leading to the conclusion "I don't think the fan helps you. It's just a status thing." However, the later Red Stone fan purchase coincided with traveling much farther — while wind-power upgrades were also bought in that session, so the fan's contribution is ambiguous. Treat fan tiers as cosmetic unless you can verify a range change yourself: buy one, test the travel distance under the same conditions, and compare.
Limits and unresolved questions
- No verified cap exists for wind-power or carry upgrades. Prices escalate steeply, but a hard level cap was not observed.
- At one point the player could not find a rebirth or further upgrade option for a system ("do we have to like rebirth though? How do I upgrade this? Oh, I don't think you can actually") — which system this refers to is unclear, so don't assume every upgrade path repeats forever.
- Whether fan tiers contribute distance or are purely cosmetic remains unresolved given the mixed results above.
- No scaling formula can be stated from the few observed prices — only that costs rise quickly.
Before your next purchase, check the listed price in the shop and confirm the effect by testing travel distance or carry capacity under equivalent conditions. If you need to earn Money faster to afford upgrades, see the income guide.
